  Where do I even start to dismantle this sorry excuse for a rental company. I guess first we should start with the LYING office staff. If they say anything GET IT IN WRITING or they will say they didn't say it. The best way I found to beat them and get them caught up in their lies was to record them with my phone, which is legal in Georgia as long as you are in the conversation. I smoked them in court when they tried their nonsense and outrageous fees they tried to levy for "lease violations". While in the Augusta office I overheard comments to customers including Military family's they were rude to in my presence. The office staff has absolutely no couth and think they are somehow better than their customers. I warn all of you if you fall into their initial nice mask trip, you will regret it. VIDEO the day you see the property and take pictures of every little thing you see. On your final Walk through inspection, VIDEO it or you will regret it. They will say oh everything's fine and then you will get a laundry list of all the "damage" they find after you leave and send you a bill. Don't ever plan on getting anything resolved through the maintenance as it doesn't exist. The people that come after numerous repair requests are unqualified unskilled street walkers evidently. Document every single request you make in writing because they tend to lose or forget about repair requests,,,,,how convenient. They may boast that they are a Family owned business, but they are far from Family oriented. Do yourself a favor and NEVER rent from these shysters and warn anyone that mentions their name to check the Better Business Bureaus F rating for them. Look at the positive reviews and you will notice many are employees who evidently work maintenance for the company, that must be the reason they can't come repair anything because they are too busy countering the negative reviews to worry about their customers!!

  I have to say that no matter what neighborhood the Auben houses are in, how old they are, or what the condition the outside is, they do an excellent job of renovating the insides of their properties to make them attractive and modern. They had a quite a few inexpensive 2 bedroom houses at the time we were looking. We ended up going with an apartment complex because it was nearer to the busline and had a fitness center on site so we wouldn't have to pay for a separate gym membership.
